Know your soil types

Soil health is a fundamental aspect of sustainable gardening, but how well do you know your soil types? Did you know there are six major classifications: sandy, loamy, clay, silty, peaty, and chalky? Each type affects water retention and nutrient availability in different ways. I’m curious, which soil type do you find most challenging to work with in your gardens?

I’ve definitely found clay to be the toughest; it can really hold onto water and suffocate roots — one trick I’ve used is mixing in compost to improve drainage. What do you do when your soil’s too dense?
