That’s it for this week. Hope you find something that piques your interest and fits your career goals. Until next time, keep nurturing your passion for plants and people.

Got more callbacks for director roles when I led with outcomes — think less ‘plant whisperer,’ more portfolio manager — and pulled metrics like ‘28% less water, 12% input savings, 15% sell-through lift’; APGA’s board stays busy: https://careers.publicgardens.org… Caveat: many ‘remote’ posts require heavy regional travel, so confirm territory and capex authority upfront. Anyone seeing more ESG/reporting baked into these JDs?

Echoing @taylor_win23, what moved the needle for me was adding board-facing wins and scope: a simple line like “owned $9.4M OPEX across 7 sites/38 FTE; cut supplier lead time 21%” plus a one-page ops scorecard. For director postings, I also call out governance items (risk register cadence, recall drills, ESG targets) so they know you can steer, not just grow. If you’re light on formal P&L, use project budgets and vendor contracts as proxies.
